PRIMARY CARE COMMUNITY HEALTH REGISTERED NURSE (RN)
PERMANENT PART-TIME/Full-Time (FTE .5 - FTE 1) POSITION

Central Interior Native Health Society (CINHS) is a non-profit, vibrant urban Indigenous, Integrated Health Centre and educational facility situated on L’Heidli T'enneh territory in Prince George, BC. CINHS’ core values are: respect, honesty, trust, humour, and compassion.

CINHS Nurses are part of an inter-disciplinary team that provides wrap-around, trauma-informed and culturally safe medical and psychosocial services to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Nurses function both independently and in collaboration with physicians, nurse practioners, physiotherapist, and psychosocial team members.

Qualifications:
 Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia BCCNP or CLPNBC
 Minimum of three years’ recent related experience which includes:

  • Opioid agonist therapy
  • o Mental health issues
  • o HIV & HCV
  • o General nursing duties

 Ability to approach health care through an Indigenous world view
 Valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license and a reliable vehicle to use for outreach services

Skills and Abilities for position:
 Experience working with clients living with: addictions, chronic disease, and marginalization
 Ability to work without direct supervision in a variety of clinical settings
 Ability to perform an assessment of care needs including: developing, implementing, and evaluating plans
 Demonstrate an ability to remain calm, perform effectively and professionally when exposed to challenging client scenarios
 Administer medications after assessment/chart review
 Provide culturally sensitive and supportive nursing care to all clients
 Monitor clients’ conditions, progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary
 Asset: proven ability to mentor fellow nurses
 Asset: proven leadership skills
